This is 40…MAUI style!

Well, it’s here. It’s finally here! I’m FORTY!!  When I was young I thought turning “this old” was light years away! As cliche as it sounds, boy was I wrong, as it happened in a blink of an eye! BUT, with that being said I love my age and this stage of life! There are so many things that are different now compared to when I was in my 20’s and 30’s and it feeds my soul so well! (we’ll save those differences for another blog post 😉 ). My husband and I also have 5 children and I absolutely love having a larger family. They keep me on my toes and I wouldn’t want it any other way ❤️

So, I had the BEST 40th birthday ever! My sweet husband booked us a week long vacation to Maui, Hawaii for JUST the two of us!! Yep, that’s right, JUST the two of us! ️ It was absolutely amazing! And when you have 5 kiddos at home, it’s so nice to be able to step away and reconnect with your honey!

When we arrived in Maui we were greeted by our driver who took us to the beautiful Ritz Carlton, Kapalua hotel.  Let. me. tell. you, this hotel was amazing! From the grounds, to the breathtaking views, to how quiet and serene it was. It truly is a magnificent place. And to top it all off, no matter which way you turned, each of the staff members were so accommodating and friendly! They helped us book whatever excursion we wished to go on.  From a helicopter ride (woah, that was amazing!! BUT, just make sure to take your dramamine before you go) to…

…a fun Luau we experienced, to…

…snorkeling and relaxing off of Kapalua Bay beach, which ranked “America’s Best Beach” in 2018!

Let’s not forget about the local restaurants! One of three of our favorites was Mama’s Fish House in Paia which has a great atmosphere for lunch, in my opinion, as there are views for days!!

And then there’s Kimo’s in Lahaina. They had a local authentic vibe with yummy food, a live band and to-die-for sunset views!

…and last but certainly not least! Merriman’s in Lahaina! This restaurant in the evening, along side the sunset & soft music, has a romantic ambiance and amazing food! We loved the whole experience here. Everything from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. And, once again, breathtaking views! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of these restaurants as each had amazing views and delicious food with wonderful service! I would say they’re all a ‘must-visit’ while in Maui.

And then you have the shopping! Let’s just say Gucci, Louis Vuitton, boutique shops, and so much more! It’s NOT a good place for your pocket book!! Lol

Overall, would we return to Maui?! Absolutely!! We are already planning a trip back with our kiddos.

But, until next time Maui, CHEERS!

Sherri
