Whoop, whoop! School is back in session (well, kind of)!! And itโs time to get back on a schedule! I thrive on schedules! I love them and so do our kids. I have to admit, as Iโm sure most of you felt the same way, when Covid came to our community at the end of last school year and we were thrown into homeschool, it was hard. Like, really hard! We had also just moved into our new home and still had boxes everywhere and a one year old running full speed ahead! I couldnโt find anything I was looking for and had no clue where all of our office supplies were that our kids needed to use! Gosh, I could hardly find just a pair of underwear yโallย ๐คฏย BUT, we made the best of it, found everyone a โspotโ to work/study and got after it. So, fast forward to finding out during the summer that we were going to be homeschooling again this school year. At first I had immediate anxiety! I knew we needed a space that felt like school and had WAY more structure than what we had previously. And even though that anxiety had set in, it was actually a relief to my husband and I as we preferred for our kids to be home until Covid can get under control. So, this time around I had a little more time to figure things out on our end. Such as, how this year was going to work and how we would set the kids up so they would have the best environment to learn and work from home. With this little bit of extra time, it made me feel a little better to get organized. So I got to planning.

I wanted our kids to have a quiet space that felt like a classroom and gave them that โschool environmentโ feeling that would help them to focus better. This is why/how our home office turned into a school room. Our son already had a desk from his bedroom in our old house so we utilized that for him and then we bought the girls each a table to sit at (one that could also be used for gatherings, etc. after Covid). I also purchased a few things online to help keep them organized with their papers, etc. It also helped that we had purchased their Edukits at the end of last school year. So when they arrived we took their supplies out and organized them on their desks’.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2020-2021๐๐ป
Zoom Classes Have Started๐๐ป
Chromebook: HERE (we have had these for a couple of years and they are the best little things! Definitely money well spent, in my opinion)
***The TV is connected to a computer so the kids can see their teacher on a larger screen if they want. Or they can just use their laptops. But it’s there for larger viewing.
We are now two weeks in and the way our school has set up distance learning with daily scheduled live Zoom classes, added videos for certain subjects and homework assignments, etc. We are very impressed! So far, so good! So, with that I say cheers to a positive and insightful school year for our kiddos. I hope that you all have a wonderful school year too! I hope that you have found this helpful should you need a homeschool set up for your kiddos too โค๏ธ
Now, to keep this little cutie-pie toddler of ours from wanting to bust into the office every 5 minutes wanting to play with his siblings…this is going to be fun! lol
